The Positive Business Club – Tuesday Tip Series: Email Marketing

Welcome to our Tuesday Tip Series, we will share short weekly insights to help your business grow with confidence, purpose and positivity. Each week, we focus on one mindset or strategy that helps turn ambition into achievement.

Today’s focus: Email marketing

In keeping with our October ‘Sales Success’ theme I have listed a few tips on how to craft the perfect email and interact with your audience.

It Starts Before They Even Open It

Your subject line is your first impression so having an engaging subject line is crucial. Generic subject lines such as "Our Monthly Newsletter" will often result in low open rates and possibly people unsubscribing. Instead look to build curiosity, examples include SAVE up to 50% on … and Free gift with any order! Consider personalization with their name at the start of the email.

Once Opened Keep Your Recipients Reading

Avoid using large paragraphs, people like to scan an email so keep it short and convey your offer quickly. Have a clear call to action such as click here to purchase or click here for a free download.

Also try and provide valuable content in your emails so you are not always selling. Share insights, tips, or industry news that genuinely helps your audience. Position yourself as someone who understands their challenges and has useful perspectives to share.

Your Challenge This Week

Look at the last newsletter you sent, read it as if you are the recipient. Be honest: would you read it? Would you reply? If the answer is no, then make the necessary changes. Rewrite it with these principles in mind. Focus on their problems, not your product features. Make it scannable and lead with value.

This month our Positive Business Club members are developing their sales and marketing skills, through our featured book: How to Sell Anything Online by Anaita Sarkar. In the book, Anaita draws on her own entrepreneurial experience to show how anyone can grow a business online using storytelling, community and confidence.
